Recycling Guidelines

Please rinse and clean bottles, jars, cans & aluminum foil products
Please break down all corrugated cardboard boxes!

ITEMS WE ACCEPT

Glass Bottles & Jars- (green, brown, & clear)

Aluminum & Steel - cans, aerosol cans, aluminum foil, scrap metal

Plastic Bottles # 1 & # 2 – (all colors ) rinse and clean bottles and throw away caps.

Corrugated Cardboard – (cardboard with wavey layers between flat layers) Remove all packaging materials from boxes. Cut and flatten all cardboard boxes. (No Styrofoam).

Box Board - cereal boxes, shoe boxes, tissue boxes etc.

Paper– office paper, copy and fax paper, envelopes , carbonless paper ( NO CARBON )

Newspapers & Glossy Magazines – newspaper, magazines including gloss and semi-gloss advertising inserts and     .                                                                                 phone books.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FOR RECYCLING

X   Hypodermic Syringes (SHARPS) – needles, razor blades etc.

X   Medical waste –  biohazardous materials, dirty diapers,  body fluids dry or otherwise

X   Drugs –  any medications, legal or illegal, outdated or current (return to pharmacy for disposal)

X   Styrofoam of any shape or form –  packing materials, food containers  and any other Styrofoam

X   3 thru 7 plastics – most toys, plastic lumber, squeeze bottles, most pill bottles,  bottle caps,  plastic film,  large sturdy  .                                           containers, laundry baskets, carry out food containers, plastic cups etc.

X   Window glass

X   Dishes, or ceramic items

X   Egg cartons

X   Wax coated boxes or containers –  milk cartons, drink boxes, even corrugated cardboard with wax coating

X   Office wastebasket material – ever hand sorted someone else's Kleenex?

X   Garbage –  leftover leftovers, smelly stuff, stuff you don't want to touch again yourself

X   PVC plastic –  plastic pipe, some toys, some building materials, signs, credit cards

X   Vinyl siding

X   Batteries –  dry cell batteries, car batteries, laptop batteries – all batteries

X   Fluorescent light bulbs –  long bulbs, compact fluorescent lights (look like springs or small bulbs)


THE FOLLOWING will be ACCEPTED ONLY DURING HAZARDOUS WASTE EVENTS!!!!

Fees will be charged at household hazardous waste collections.

• Motor oil
• Paint
• Pesticides
• Cleaners
• Dry cell batteries
• Fluorescent light bulbs
